In July of 2020, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched the New Era of Smarter Food Safety blueprint. The blueprint outlines a ten-year plan to create a safer food system, one component of which is supporting and promoting food safety culture (FSC).
As part of this effort, FDA commissioned a systematic literature review to produce a synthesis of the published literature for guidance on what is food safety culture, how is FSC created and promoted, and how is FSC assessed.
