These documents were authored by leading industry food safety experts (including our founder, Laura Dunn Nelson), and are designed to promote and maintain a positive culture of food safety by providing tools available for culture improvement.

In July of 2020, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched the New Era of Smarter Food Safety blueprint. The blueprint outlines a ten-year plan to create a safer food system, one component of which is supporting and promoting food safety culture (FSC).
As part of this effort, FDA commissioned a systematic literature review to produce a synthesis of the published literature for guidance on what is food safety culture, how is FSC created and promoted, and how is FSC assessed.
